We needed to leave Padstow by 9.30 when the cill on the inner harbour is raised and would have then trapped us until 6pm. However it was another windless morning so again we were motoring.

We were also against the tide again - we’re currently going the wrong way as we’re limited to setting off at high water which is followed by westerly flowing tides.

A compensation as we motored across the glassy sea was to be joined for a while by the second pod of dolphins we’ve now seen on this trip. They stayed with us for a few minutes and then we must have passed something more interesting… as they turned aside and dived in unison towards the same spot.

Then to anchor overnight by Lundy. A long walk up the hill - and then a shorter steeper climb up to the top of the old lighthouse for the views. Then back to the Marisco Tavern to pay our landing fees - albeit free for National Trust members. So we instead paid for a pint of the local, and some even more local roast Lundy Lamb.
