We motor sailed as yesterday’s wind had faded fast.

We avoided the cluster of lobster pots just off the Manacles, specifically around and to the East of the Manacle East Cardinal buoy. We weren’t likely to have any problems as it was calm conditions and daylight - but change either of those conditions and these small unlit markers would be a real hazard. I would dearly and genuinely like to know if the positioning of the pots is critical to the nearest hundred yards or so. If not then those positions are directly in the path of vessels rounding the headline clear of the navigation mark.

Otherwise an uneventual trip out to the Scillies where we decided to anchor in Porth Conger, north of the causeway between St Agnes and Gugh. We were the only boat there - the anchorage being much shallower than The Cove south of the causeway. A pint at the … overlooking the boat was a great first stop before wandering further on St Agnes and over to Gugh.
